Malaprop’s is excited to announce a new program for young readers ages 7-17. First Reads gives you the chance to read books months before they are published. We know. It’s pretty cool. Intrigued?

Here’s the deal. Publishers send us early copies of books called Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs). Sadly, we busy booksellers simply don’t have time to read all of these amazing books, so we need readers like you to lend a hand!

This is how it works:
1.  Fill out and return the attached enrollment form.
2. Select any book of your choice from our pile of ARCs.
3. Read your NEW, TOTALLY FREE BOOK. (Keep it forever or pass it on to a pal!)
4.  Email your review to:  firstreads@malaprops.com
5.  Choose another ARC from our First Reads bins.
6.  Read and repeat!
7.  Selected reviews will be posted in the store, and may also appear on our website, in our newsletter, or on our First Reads blog:  http://firstreads-malaprops.blogspot.com/

The fine print:
1.  Only one ARC at a time. Once we get your review, you can take another.
2.  If we choose to use your review as a store shelf talker, you will earn $5 store credit (limit 2 per month) to be used toward any book (only one credit allowed per book). Credit will not be given until the review appears on our shelves.
3.  If you don’t have email, go ahead and write up the review  (make sure it’s legible) and bring it into the store. Just make sure we have a phone number to notify you if you receive a store credit.
4.  Reviews may be edited.

Come by the store, sign up, choose a book, and get reading!
